Jawad Akram, Secretary of the Communication and Works Department, South Punjab, presided over a meeting held in the committee room of his office on Saturday. The purpose of the meeting was to review the progress of ongoing and new development schemes under the annual development program.
In attendance were notable officials, including Ghulam Yasin, Additional Secretary of Communication and Works Administration; Rao Dilshad, Additional Secretary of Communication and Works Technical; Tariq Mulghani, Chief Engineer Buildings South Punjab; Najam Saeed, Chief Engineer Highways South Punjab; Riaz Joiya, Section Officer, and other relevant officers.
During the meeting, Secretary Jawad Akram evaluated the advancement of the development schemes and directed the concerned officers to ensure the timely completion of the projects. He emphasized the importance of site visits by officers to oversee the progress of the work and requested the submission of weekly progress reports. He further noted the need to gather input from stakeholders during the preparation of new schemes and to consider future requirements.
Secretary Jawad Akram also urged the relevant department officers to plan and prepare their organization’s budget carefully. He highlighted the importance of holding fortnightly meetings to address disciplinary cases within the offices. Additionally, he stressed the significance of activating the Pension Welfare Cell to provide relief to pensioners.
